JAMB: 15 years old Ekene Franklin Scores Highest In 2019 UTME With 347 

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, released the results of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, a 15-year-old boy from Abia State emerged the best candidate by scoring 347 marks considered as the highest by board.

Similar, a 16-year-old boy from Abia State came second by scoring 346 marks just as a 17 year old from Osun State trailed behind with 345, considered by the board as the third best result in the 2019 UTME.

But the Registrar of JAMB, Prof Ishaq Oloyode, who announced this at a media briefing, Saturday, however, said the best candidate may not be admitted in the University of Lagos,which he chose as his first choice because of age.

He gave the names of the three best candidates as Ekene Franklin: Igban Emmanuel Chidiebube and Oluwo Isaac Olamilekan
Oloyode did not disclose the intended courses of the best performing students.

PSC approves promotion of 3 AIGs to DIGs, 4 CPs to AIGs


The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of three Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) to the next rank of Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs).
A statement on Wednesday by PSC spokesman, Okechukwu Ani, said the Commission also approved the promotion of four Commissioners of Police (CPs) to Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) of Police.

He said the promotions were one of the highlights of the first Plenary Meeting of the newly inaugurated management of the Commission held in Abuja on the 26th of September 2018 and between the 9th and 11th of October, 2018.
He said the new DIGs are Musa Katsina Muhammed, mni, presently at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos; Mohammed Sani Usman, Commandant Police Academy, Wudil, Kano and Peace Ibekwe Abdallah, Office of the National Security Adviser.

The new AIGs are: Godwin C. Nwobodo currently, CP Courses at the Police Academy Wudil, Kano; Adeyemi O. Samuel Ogunjemilusi CP, Akwa Ibom State Command; Augustine Iornongu Iwar, CP, Bayelsa State Command and Adekunle J. Oladunjoye, CP Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Musiliu Smith, a retired Inspector- General of Police, who presided over the meeting, urged the newly promoted senior Police Officers to rededicate themselves to the service of their fatherland.
Alhaji Smith said their new ranks impose on them more challenging responsibilities which call for more hard work.

Nigerian Navy Releases List Of Shortlisted Candidates For The 2017 DSSC.

The Nigerian Navy has released list of successful candidates  for interview into  direct short service commission course 25. A statement  released on  Nigerian Navy e recruitment website states that,     applicants whose names appear below were successful at the Nigerian Navy Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 25 Aptitude Test written on 2 December 2017.
Successful candidates are to report at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School Ojo, Lagos State on Friday 15 December 2017 for an Interview which will take place from 15 to 23 December 2017.
The Interview will involve the screening of academic certificates and credentials, medical and physical fitness tests, written and oral examinations. Candidates are to come along with the following items:

a. Original and photocopies of academic certificates and credentials including:
(1) National Identity Card (acknowledgement slip admissible).
(2) First School Leaving Certificate and Senior Secondary School Certificates (WAEC, NECO etc), with scratch cards for verification results (original copy of West African Examination Council Certificate is compulsory).
(3) Certificates from tertiary institutions.
(4) Federal Ministry of Education authentication of foreign certificates.
(5) NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.
(6) Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age.
(7) Certificate of Local Government of origin.
(8) Two (2) recent coloured passport-sized photographs.
b. Writing materials.
c. Three pairs of white (unmarked) vests and navy blue shorts.
d. A pair of white canvas shoes/trainers.
e. Two bed sheets and pillow cases.
f. A set of cutlery.
g. Toiletries.
Candidates who fail to report on 15 December 2017 will be disqualified.
